Would it be possible to create a username and password with edit privilages to a blog that's been configured.  I'm happy to test from my end.

I should have given you my email address (don at itcrossing.com).  I would recommend to change that password since this is a public forum.

When I log in with that account, I don't see a blog created for that user.  Perhaps this is why you were receiving the error.  You'll need to grant the blogAccount user edit access to the blog module so that this user can create a blog.  There are 5 blog modules when you install the blog module, the one that needs edit access is the one that usually contains the links which say either Create Blog or Blog Settings.
